On the 24th of March, protesters took over the DC Council's confirmation hearing for (now-acting) police chief Newsham. Several had zip-tied each other hand to foot, just as Newsham had about 400 people "half-hog" tied during the infamous Pershijng Park/IMF 2002 mass arrest. Newsham is also known for violent spousal abuse, yet is being made DC's police chief
